Report: E3 2023 is Canceled

This fate was inevitable.

According to a report by IGN, E3 2023 is canceled. This comes after weeks of publishers and gaming companies stating that they were not going to attend E3 this year, including Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Tencent, and more.

IGN's report from March 30 says that two separate sources confirmed with them that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA; the group behind E3) sent out emails to ESA members earlier today announcing the cancellation....

Valve Announces Counter-Strike 2

Valve's massively popular FPS gets an engine upgrade and a test starting today.

Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 today after weeks of teases, speculation, and rumors. The developer calls this "the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and I'm inclined to believe it.

Counter-Strike 2 will launch to everyone starting in Summer of 2023. Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some Counter-Strike:...

The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment reportedly had some choice words during a meeting with Activision.

It has been a ridiculous day for Sony when it comes to new details that have come out about the company's opposition to the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger.

First, a new report from The Verge's Tom Warren shared some key pieces of information from documents (PDF download) that were recently submitted to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)....

Review: The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

An easy purchase for new players but maybe a hard sell for existing owners.

It was not until I reinstalled the original PC release of The Outer Worlds that I was able to really appreciate the improvements made with the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. Initially, I believed that this looked exactly like the same game that I had played on PC back in late 2019 when it first came out.

"I'm just not seeing what makes this Spacer's Choice Edition worth...

Gigantic games developer EA Sports have been churning out NHL games annually since 1991. Yet at the same time, EA will be acutely aware that ice hockey fans who play video games, will more often than not, shell out for the new game, just so they can have...

AMD Releases Fix for Windows 11 Bug that Impacted Ryzen Performance

This is just one part of the fix however.

Earlier this month, it became apparent that there were some issues with AMD Ryzen performance when using Windows 11. In fact, these issues were present since some of the earliest betas for Windows 11 but they largely went ignored until the operating system's first public release. Some testing showed that system performance could decrease by roughly 15% compared to the same hardware running on Windows 10. At the time, AMD and Microsoft said...

New Uncharted Trailer Shows Off Iconic Scene from Third Game

Hey! Hey I saw this before!

A new trailer for the upcoming Uncharted film made its way online today. Well, it made its way online last night through a leaked, shaky cam upload by someone, but we don't talk about that here. The official release of the trailer shows off the youngster known as Tom Holland playing one Nathan Drake. It also features a mustache-less Sully played by Mark Wahlberg.

The trailer footage should be immediately familiar to those who are fans of the...

DICE Shares What They Learned from the Battlefield 2042 Beta

Specialists are still here to stay though.

DICE has a new and rather lengthy write-up about what they learned from the recent Battlefield 2042 beta that took place. First and foremost, the Specialists are here to stay. You may want to get used to them now because the "traditional" classes as you have come to know them from previous titles are no more.

DICE says that they "see Specialists as the next evolution of the classic Battlefield class system that will...

Five Additional Specialists Revealed for Battlefield 2042

New Specialists bring new abilities to the Battlefield.

Love them or hate them, the Specialists are here to stay in Battlefield 2042. The recent beta for the game only featured four out of the ten Specialists that the game will launch with, which often made it seem like there was a lack of variety between players. Most people definitely gravitated towards the grapple hook after all.

The other five Specialists were revealed today by DICE and they include: Constantin "Angel"...

Once upon a time, there existed a Half-Life 2 mod called The Hidden: Source. It actually began life as a mod for the original Half-Life before a new team brought it to Source. Technically, the mod still exists now but it hasn't been updated in years. For a time, it was hugely popular and still manages to have a handful of dedicated players these days.

  • Poll: What Platform Do you Game on the Most?
    by Shawn Zipay
Do you prefer consoles? PC? Maybe mobile is your preferred platform?

This month's poll is a bit generic if only because I really don't know what to ask right now and this is the easiest thing that came to mind. The question is simple: Which sort of platform do you prefer to play games on?

Do you like playing on consoles? Do you prefer to play games on PC? What about mobile games? Maybe you prefer to spend most of your time on your phone playing this, that, or the other....
