Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

Wreckfest Delayed Until 2019 on Consoles

THQ Nordic and Bugbear announced that Wreckfest will not be making its planned release on November 20, 2018 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It has instead been delayed until some time in 2019.
Anti-bullshit quote: "Wreckfest for consoles will only be released as soon as we love playing it. After the fantastic release on PC, the benchmark for the console release is much higher. At this moment, the team needs more time to polish the multiplayer part, as well as the overall performance on the game to bring it up to par with the experience on PC. We are sorry for keeping fans waiting longer because of this. However, we already have compensation

Imogen Heap Created an Original Track for The Quiet Man

What even is The Quiet Man at this point? It's a mix of live-action and computer rendered graphics. It's got a protagonist that doesn't speak. It now also apparently has an original track from Imogen Heap, whom you probably know most from her "Hide and Seek" song that was prominently featured in the classic "Dear Sister" skit on Saturday Night Live.

Are you ready for the name of the original song made by Imogen Heap for The Quiet Man? It's called "The Quiet." Alrighty then. Let's read up a bit about the game?

Sean Bean to Die Once Again Courtesy of Hitman 2

Sean Bean just cannot catch a break. The actor seems to be destined to play roles in which his character is killed off in one way or another. He has already met his end in films like GoldenEye and Lord of the Rings, or even the TV series Game of Thrones. Those are just the quick ones off the top of my head. According to ShortList, Bean has another 20+ films in which his character is killed off. The guy just can't catch a break, so who better to be the first elusive target in HITMAN 2 than him? Nobody, that's who. Alright, maybe there are some others who have been killed off more often but Bean's deaths have become a running joke at this point and it's clear ...

  • Sony Fixes Issue that Allowed Malicious Messages to Crash PlayStation 4 Consoles

This past week, a number of PlayStation 4 owners started to discover that their consoles were stuck in a crash loop. These crashes were apparently caused by a malicious message sent by other users that contained text or characters that the PS4 operating system just did not like. Those who were unaware of the quick fix resorted to factory resetting their consoles. These users believed their consoles to be bricked by the offending message. Thankfully, this is not the case and you did not need to factory reset your console if you had fallen victim. It seems as though Sony was quickly made aware of the issue and quickly issued a fix. The news comes from the PlayStati...
