Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

  • Review: EWinRacing Flash XL Gaming Chair

Review: EWinRacing Flash XL Gaming Chair

When it comes to "gaming" chairs, it is obvious that the opinions are as varied as the ever-growing number of brands in the market. Some companies push for the quick buck with products that are very clearly inferior in one way or another. These companies tend not to last long. Really, that's true for any industry. It's just common sense.

I was never super into the whole "gaming" aesthetic. I am still not. However, I was offered a chance to review a gaming chair from a company I had never heard of before called EWinRacing. I had no idea who they are. I had no idea if they were one of those companies that just wanted a quick buck at the cost of quality or not. Nevertheless, I went ahead and accepted their offer to review one of their chairs for gaming. Even now, I do not know much about EWin except that I now know they make a quality, comfy chair. I was allowed to choose one chair to review and decided upon one of the Flash XL chairs, specifically the "FLB" model. I went with this one be...

  • Jade Raymond Leaving EA After Just 3 Years

Jade Raymond Leaving EA After Just 3 Years

Jade Raymond is parting ways with EA and the EA Motive studio that she helped to found. Taking up the reigns as studio lead will be Samantha Ryan. Ryan already leads EA Mobile, Maxis, and a BioWare studio.

EA Motive was initially founded in 2015 after Raymond left Ubisoft. The first project for the studio was working with Amy Hennig on the now cancelled Star Wars title from the now closed Visceral Games. EA Motive at least got to put some of that work to use in helping out with Star Wars: Battlefront II. The studio then moved on to working on a new IP alongside BioWare. Despite Raymond's departure, EA remains committed to keeping ...

  • Valve Delays Artifact Beta

    Valve Delays Artifact Beta

Valve's beta for Artifact has been delayed until November 19. The beta was supposed to begin this month but that isn't happening. There is also concern that the game itself, which is still slated to begin on November 28, will also be pushed back due to the very late start on the beta.

PC Gamer seems to be the first outlet to notice this delay. They spotted a tweet by Wykrhm Reddy, a known tester for Valve, in which the November 19 date was prominently featured for the start of the beta.
This date was then confirmed by others who reported receiving emails announcing the November 19 release date for th...

Fortnite: Save the World Free Release Delayed

This probably won't come as a shock to some of you and will probably make others go "isn't Fortnite just a battle royale game?", but the promised free release of the Save the World campaign for Fortnite has been delayed. First of all, no, Fortnite isn't just the battle royale game. In fact, it was a cooperative game focused on building and survival against zombies long before battle royale came about. But then battle royale happened and it was made clear that the Save the World campaign took a backseat, perhaps understandably so. Save the World has been accessible only to those that payed to get into the game early but it was forever promised by Epic tha...

Dark Souls: Remastered Out Today on the Nintendo Switch

It's now time for Nintendo Switch owners to die, die, and die some more. I, of course, am talking about dying in today's release of Dark Souls: Remastered for the Switch.
DARK SOULS: Remastered includes updated visuals and inclusion of the Artorias of the Abyss expansion bundled with the main game. Explore the twisted land of Lordran where tormented souls are lurking around every corner ready to put an end to a hard-fought journey. The unique portable nature of the Nintendo Switch means that players can level up their characters away from home in handheld mode and land the finishing blow of a boss fight on the couch in TV mode.
