Nishino says that this is the final design that is starting to be shipped out to developers. As a result, the developers that receive these controllers will soon be able to...

Review: Half-Life Alyx is VR at Its Finest

A watershed moment for VR gaming.

In the past several days, I have gone back and forth on what I wanted to write for the Half-Life: Alyx review. I have gone through several revisions and at least two full rewrites now. It's not that I am at a loss for words. It's more that I just have too much that I want to say. I want to go on and on about how neat this sequence was or how refined this aspect was. The result of that review was just some rambling word salad that made for a poor reading...

The Last of Us Part II Delayed Indefinitely

This decision comes direct from Sony.

In the early afternoon on April 2, word came direct from Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), that both The Last of Us Part II and Marvel's Iron Man VR are delayed "until further notice." The reason behind these delays is, you guessed it, due to the ongoing global crisis.

Word first came from the official PlayStation Twitter account. ...

Valve Offers Suggestions on Reducing Steam Bandwidth

Budget that bandwidth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Everyone is at home. If not, they probably should be. 2020 has been crazy wild and it's still only March. One of the things people have been doing more of, is playing games. What else is there to do when you're under quarantine? Work? HA! Screw that!

The problem with being at home all the time like this, is that the network in your home, country, or even globally can be impacted significantly. People have more time now...

Review: Persona 5 Royal

A master class in improving upon what is already great.

In September 2016, the original release of Persona 5 made its debut in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It eventually had its Western market debut in April 2017. The game was developed by P-Studio and published in North America by Atlus. Despite a few minor issues, it was largely regarded as a fantastic JRPG with excellent art, an intriguing cast of characters, enjoyable gameplay, and even a rad soundtrack. Persona...

Steam Summer Sale 2019 Dates Leaked

It's time to prepare your wallets again.

Dates for the Steam Summer Sale 2019 have been leaked. This seems to be a rather common thing with these sales for the past few years now. I think every major Steam sale has had its date leaked weeks ahead of time and this one is no exception.

According to the leak, the Steam Summer Sale 2019 begins on June 25 and will conclude on July 9.

This all comes courtesy of SteamDB and SteamCN....

Ubisoft Delays Pirate Themed 'Skull & Bones' Until Mid-2020

Open world naval pirate game to skip E3 2019.

Ubisoft delivered some sad news today. Their open world pirate themed naval combat game, Skull & Bones, has been delayed until at least mid-2020. The team working on the game even delivered word today that they would be skipping E3 2019.

Skull & Bones was initially revealed way back at E3 2017. More footage was revealed at E3 2018 and it was still looking pretty good. Last year came the first delay which pushed it into...

  • New 'Safe Haven' Cinematic for World of Warcraft

New 'Safe Haven' Cinematic for World of Warcraft

    Hey look, it's Thrall!

Blizzard released a new cinematic video today for World of Warcraft. We see Varok Saurfang paying a visit to an old leader of the Horde. This particular cinematic is for the Rise of Azshara content update (8.2) for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. This new content update includes features like equipment slots on mounts, new zones (Nazjatar & Mechagon), a new raid (Azshara's Eternal Palace), and more.

Now, can someone explain to me why Blizzard...

  • 'DOTA Underlords' Trademarked by Valve

    'DOTA Underlords' Trademarked by Valve

    It's probably DOTA Auto Chess.

Valve was given a new trademark this week. This trademark is for an upcoming "computer game" called DOTA Underlords. Literally nothing else is known about this title. There is speculation that it may be the name of Valve's standalone release of DOTA Auto Chess, but that's as much of a guess as anything else.

For all we know, it could be a VR title, something to do with Artifact, or something completely unexpected....

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Gameplay Footage and Epic Exclusive Details

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says exclusives "will be rare."

Another Take-Two title is confirmed to be a timed exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Previously, the Take-Two Private Division label published title, The Outer Worlds, is a one year timed exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Yes, it's also out on the same day to the Microsoft Store because Obsidian is now owned by MS and there are many business issues at work. After that point, it will be sold on Steam and other digital...

First Raid Added to The Division 2

Get ready for "Operation Dark Hours."

Today, Ubisoft released the "Operation Dark Hours" update for Tom Clancy's The Division 2. This update will also include the first 8-player raid for the game, which just happens to be given the same name as the name of the update. Must just be one big coincidence.

The raid itself doesn't unlock until May 16 at 12PM (ET). The update itself is live now.

Today's update for the game also includes the new...

  • New Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft Creative Director (Update: Only a 'joke')

That sure is one way to announce a game, I suppose.

Update: Ubisoft issued a statement after this apparent earlier "confirmation" by Gerighty.

Ah, so it was a "joke." Ha...

    ... ha?

If you still somehow doubt it, Jason Schreier also confirmed that it was just a joke.

Original: Julian Gerighty is a Creative Director at Ubisoft that has helped to create and bring games like The Division 2 and the Splinter...

Get ready for new info on Super Mario Maker 2.

Nintendo announced that they will hold a new "Direct" stream tomorrow, May 15 at 3PM (PT).

Given that this is specifically being called a "Super Mario Maker 2 Direct" I would assume this will focus only on Super Mario Maker 2. I may or may not be Nostradamus. Watch it on YouTube or via the embed below. ...

World of Warcraft Classic Release Date Set for August 27

Time to bust out those rose tinted glasses.

Blizzard officially announced today that World of Warcraft Classic will be released this year. The re-release of the classic game is based off of the 1.12.0 version of the game that originally came out in late 2006. Though the release of Classic will include some "modern conveniences," it will largely still be the old WoW that you know and remember loving.

The release date is set for August 27, but some players will...
