Review: RIG 500 Pro HX Gen 2 Headset for Xbox

Fantastic audio quality at an affordable price.

I was recently given the opportunity to review some new hardware from RIG (they are owned by NACON now). You already saw what I thought about the RIG Pro Compact Wired Controller. Specifically, this review is about the 500 Pro HX, a headset designed for use with the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10....

New strings were discovered tucked away in the latest Steam update.

The latest beta update for the Steam client has some interesting surprises tucked away within the code. The new client update has several strings that reference things like a "Neptune" controller alongside something else called "SteamPal." The prevailing theory is that Valve is working on a handheld console, perhaps similar to the Nintendo Switch, that will be called SteamPal when it is released....

According to the PlayStation Blog, the free "Ghost Survivors" DLC for Resident Evil 2 will be released on February 15. This is the date it will appear on the PlayStation 4, but I'm also going to assume this is the date other platforms will get it as well. Blizzard Will Not Release Any Major Games in 2019

Yesterday, news about Blizzard's upcoming year got a bit lost in the shuffle and understandably so. However, during yesterday's earnings call with investors, it was revealed that Blizzard has no "frontline release" planned for the 2019 fiscal year.

In short: This means they aren't going to release any new titles in the next year. Yes, this includes the oft pined for desktop Diablo 4.

OtherSide Entertainment Reacquires System Shock 3 Publishing Rights

Back in December, Starbreeze suffered a real one-two punch. They had filed for reconstruction and then days later their offices were raided by Swedish authorities over suspicions of insider trading. This was about a month after the release of the ill-received Overkill's The Walking Dead, a mediocre game that never managed to pick up much of a fanbase at any point.

Given the company's issues, a question was raised about whether or not they would still hold on to the publishing...

Metro Exodus Preload Available on Steam but Not on Epic Games Store

Goodness, this launch of Metro Exodus has been a bit wild. The other day we saw from Deep Silver's technical support that there wouldn't be any preload of the game through Steam. The email response from Deep Silver literally said that they expect to see the most traffic going to the Epic Games Store version of the game.

So, we assumed that meant there would instead be a preload period on the Epic Games Store, right? Well, no. We were wrong. To be fair, that response from Deep...

A new trailer for the upcoming World War Z game shows off some PvPvZ multiplayer action. Get it? Z? Zombies? Clever.

This new trailer does actually show off what parts of the game will be like. Though the core game is still co-op against the zeds, there are some competitive modes that see groups of four going up against another group of four players. Of course, the big wildcard in this is the always present swarm of undead that tends not to pick sides in this competitive battle. They're an equal-opportunity opponent. ...
