Nintendo is currently sitting on top of the hardware market, after creating the record-breaking Wii and the portable Nintendo DS. It seems that new new sales records are posted almost every month related to the rapid progress of the DS. Unfortunately for Nintendo, the DS has been in existence for over four years now, making it an older system which is starting to lose steam. As it stood last fall, something had to be done.
