A rumor in the latest issue of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) claims that Epic is already hard at work on Gears of War 3. The rumor says that the game is pushing for a release during the Holiday 2010 season and will feature a nice boost to its co-op experience.
According to the mag the third game, which is surely inevitable after the titanic sales of the first two, will be with us for Christmas 2010. What's more, it'll feature a new "five player co-op experience", which we assume means co-op in the main campaign.I believe I once read that Microsoft hoped to alternate the release years of Gears of War with the Halo series, and if this holds up it may very well be the case. Halo 3: ODST is already slated for a late Fall release in 2009, and with this rumor placing Gears 3 in 2010 it may very well end up true.
It all sounds like a big fan wishlist at this point, but EGM also claims that Epic has a multiplatform horror game in development, a rumour that's already done the rounds once or twice before and could be likely.
