$10 Million Ad Campaign for Left 4 Dead

Valve is set to unleash a massive $10 million ad campaign for the upcoming title, Left 4 Dead. The campaign will feature television, print, Internet, and outdoor advertisements to make for one of the strongest advertising pushes from the company ever.

With retail pre-orders already up 60% over the Orange Box, nearly half of the funds will go towards TV spots. The ads are 30 seconds in length and will be "high impact, premium placement spots" slated to air during USC, Notre Dame, Monday Night Football and Thanksgiving day football games.

The TV commercials will feature a mix of humor and horror and will start to appear November 9 on ABC, ESPN, Fox, MTV, Comedy Central, USA, and Spike TV among others.

Major cities such as Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Boston will be "saturated" with ads appearing on buses, billboards, train stations, mobile vans, jumbotrons, and the like.

Print magazine ads will not be excluded. Magazines from OXM to Playboy have all been included in the marketing blitz.

This certainly marks one of the largest, if not the largest, ad campaign from Valve ever.
