In a recent interview with OXM UK, Valve's Doug Lombardi hinted that he'd like to see Counter-Strike appear on the Xbox Live Arcade one day.
Lombardi also stated that Valve would begin announcing Episode 3 news "at the end of this year or early next year." Don't expect anything on the Episode 3 front until after the release of Left 4 Dead.
Would you think about bringing older Valve games like Counter-Strike to XBLA?In addition to this hopefulness on Lombardi's part, he also clears the air on a few things having to do with Portal: Still Alive. As far as exclusivity goes, the new content in the Arcade version of Portal will remain exclusive to the 360, at least through 2008. Lombardi was very careful to not make any firm statements on whether or not the content would be released on the PC, but his wording certainly seems to indicate that PC owners will get the new content some time in 2009.
Lombardi:We'll certainly consider it. If you look at what we've done on steam, we try to make all our games available and we're always reviewing the prices to keep them current. We'd love to do that, but this is our first step at doing that beyond the PC.
