Treyarch, the developer of Call of Duty: World at War, has confirmed today that the title will feature both online and local cooperative play. A first for the series, the game will have two-player local play via a split-screen and up to four players while playing online.
These two and four player co-op modes will be present in the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of the title. The Wii version will have its own two-player mode, but beyond calling it a "unique" experience, not much is known about the Wii's co-op.
The co-op modes will also allow players to gain experience points and unlocks that can be used in multiplayer, similar in fashion to the perks system that was in Call of Duty 4.
