TsN Year in Review and CPL Info

2003 has been the most productive for the Team Sportscast Network in our 4 year history as a station. We covered more online events than ever as well as a record number of LAN events. Some of those include:

    - CPL Summer 2003 (Dallas)

    - WCG US finals (California)

    - WCG Canadian finals (Toronto)

    - WCG Grand finals (Seoul, Korea)

    - Intel Landed 5(London, England)

    - CPL Winter 2003 (Dallas)

    - IGL (Boston)[break="Click Here to Continue" type="viewnews"]We enjoyed a lot of really positive feedback and support at all of these events this past year and we owe this success primarily to the support of the CounterStrike community. As you may or may not know we depend primarily on sponsor support at this point to get people out to these events and often we actually pay out of pocket ourselves to attend. We hope to double the amount of LAN events we attend in 2004. We're hoping to announce some new sponsors soon that will help us with that goal and we hope to have your continued support!

We exist for gamers and we value your feedback and input. I've said many times that i'm always open to constructive feedback from the community on how we can serve you better. As we move into 2004 we want to ensure that we continue to set the bar high for ourselves and for the others in this business. Professional gaming will realize it's goal of becoming a recognized and legitimate sport. We will continue to do everything in our power to make that dream a reality.

The Recordings for CPL winter including all the match broadcasts and interviews should be available by the 2nd week of january. Everyone is scattered for the holidays and this is of course causeing some delays in the editing process. We'll have them up in the downloads section at www.tsncentral.com as soon as possible.

TsN has some preliminary numbers in for the CPL Winter event. We registered over 300,000 unique hits to the stream during the one week period we did our live broadcast from Dallas. Our numbers were actually a bit higher than this summer's CPL event which tells us that we are appealing to the commmunity and doing some things right to get noticed. We're expecting the upcoming CPL Summer 2004 event to be a groundbreaker in terms of listener counts and active participation. Just like the rest of you we can't WAIT to get into that new venue!

Lastly many of you know we've been running a charity drive for the month of December called Giving Gamers to help support the Red Cross. On New Years Eve we hit our modest goal of 1 thousand dollars and we would like to take a second to thank everyone who participated and donated to this great cause. TsN has decided that we'll be doing this drive every year from now on and we hope to double our goal for next year.

Watch for an announcement regarding our expanded 2004 coverage in the new year. We're going to be roughly tripling the amount of Counterstrike coverage at the station due to the popular demand. Expect increased CAL coverage, Euro coverage, and coverage from a few other major leagues as well.
