Argo, Toenail, and company over at GameHelper have posted an interview with Randy Pitchford. Included in the 6 page interview is a bunch of screenshots, so be sure to scope those too. Here's a question:
GH: Let's talk weapons and items. My jaw hit the floor when I read about the grenade launcher and suicide belt. But I’ve since read you’ve started over. Can you tell us what new weapons and items we can expect to see?Don't worry, word has it that the LAW is T only. So why not take a gander or four?
RP: We are treating Condition Zero delicately as far as new weapons go because all of the new content will be exposed to the multiplayer game. Our weapons list includes new rifles such as the FAMAS and the Galil assault rifles. The FAMAS is used by French Special Forces and was made popular by the game Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation. The Galil is a weapon from Israel and it appeared in the move “Way of the Gun”. We’ve added a new machinegun, the M-60 E3, which is nicely balanced against the existing SAW. Some of the more interesting new weapons include a LAW rocket. The LAW is a one-shot launch tube that weighs around 3 pounds and is effectively a grenade that flies somewhat straight and explodes on impact. CT’s also can employ a Ballistic Shield, which always provides defensive advantages, although the high-powered rifles will be able to penetrate it. There are a few new grenade types including a Molotov Cocktail and a Gas Grenade. These provide some great new tactical situations as far as path control goes and they also allow for some interesting new approaches to tactical problems that are present in the current on-line game.
