In a weird twist of fate, CS-Nation has content! That's right, our very own bender has interviewed Tony Ray of Punkbuster. Here's a tidbit:

Tony Ray: well, I was a league admin and on the council of another league and as a player I became more and more frustrated with cheating, I put a lot of time and effort into strategizing, etc. and when we faced a bunch of punk cheaters, I felt my time had been stolen. So for a long time I had been trying to brainstorm about how to combat cheating. Most of my early ideas had already been tried, then one day, it just hit me. Write a client/server app. Server controls things, client watches the player's system just like if I was looking over their shoulder as a league admin
