Gamers.com, a site founded by none other than Thresh himself (the undisputed champion of Quake, for those non-Quake fans,) just recently slapped together their Best of 2000 PC Game Awards. Not surprisingly (given the title of this post,) Counter-Strike has won in their massive game throw-down (Deus Ex, Diablo II, The Sims, and many other popular releases were contenders.) Blurbage:Featured are quite a few interesting rewards, such as the biggest disappointments of the year: Q3: Team Arena, Battle.net, and Star Wars: Force Commander. I'm not one to spoil, so read the other awards by yourself so I won't feel all guilty and gooey inside.
We've logged more hours of Counter-Strike than all of the other nominees combined. Bug us after work and you're bound to hear, "Rush the H!" or "We're getting flanked!" Hop onto our numerous servers and you'll see a few GX tags (Gamers.com employees) owning it up. Great games come and go, but we always find ourselves returning to Counter-Strike, our Game of the Year.
