God am I tired. We (syn2, the second string syndicate members) finished a match against CK3's primary team, went into overtime, and lost by one earlier today. After passing the prelims but losing a match afterwards (double elimination,) we're done for playing and have scored a final rank of somewhere around 7th or 8th. Anyways, syn1 (our main team) was going strong after a win against CK3's first team, but then lost to the Swedish clan E9. With spirits low, they later lost to DoP and secured a spot at 5th... blech.
Notable are these two clans from Europe: MTW (Germany) and E9 (Sweden.) I never imagined European players being this good -- these guys have bot-like accuracy. They should be taking the top two spots in the tournament later tonight. It's amazing how different their style of play is; high-speed internet is scarce in many areas of Europe, so CS LANs are the norm, and it's obvious from their performance. CK3 and Syndicate (my team) were just talking a few minutes ago, and we agreed on one thing: beating American clans is no longer a main concern. These European guys came as a cold, wet bitch-slap.
