Welcome to another edition of your weekly Saturday Ketchup. Apparently I have become addicted to italics and it's really starting to freak me out.

    poll

This week's poll: Favorite purchased pistol(s)? I'm a FiveseveN man believe it or not. Last week's poll, featured to the right, shows that our mainly US following is totally stupid. SK.sca, of course, won the CPL event. (see below for more info on the CPL)

    this week in content

Actually fairly light this week. Yesterday we posted Exo's brief history on anti-cheat programs. The comments discussion is quite interesting and adds another dimension to the article itself.[break="more of what happened last week and a bit of new wisdom"]in the news

This week the CPL event in Dallas, Texas dominated the news. The CS event started six days ago, the event ended on Wednesday with bds' SK.sca (Sweden) taking home $25,000 and title as the best clan in the world. The top three clans were all from Sweden: a complete shut-out. American hopeful 3D had a relatively dismal performance, being knocked down to the lower bracket by fzer0 and then being defeated by Germany's mTw. TSO, another US favorite, put a good fight, but ended up being knocked out by a domestic threat: Domain of Pain. Just to leave you hanging, we'll have a full recap of all the drama very soon.

HLGuard 1.07 released. Militia2 will be at the Machinima film festival. StatsMe 2.6.4 released. On a depressing note, Matt "Zofran" Hallemeier passed away due to leukemia.

On your preferences page you can now specify the amount of comments per page (or disable separated comment pages completely). In case you missed it, a little box was added to right of the comment number. Click the box to "mark" the comment. Scroll down to the bottom of the page: above the comment box you'll see a marked comments dropdown box. You can select quote and it'll automatically "quote" all of the selected comments.

This week didn't deserve to exist. I mean really, besides me playing CS nothing happened at all!

This week's poll: Worst weapon(s) in CS? The Desert Eagle being the favorite pistol (right) is no big shock. It's instant gratification I guess.

      this week in content

Last Sunday we posted our CPL mailbag, which most people seemed to like for a change. On Thursday we posted our calendar for August by Threeboy. It's another cartoon one and many folks seemed to be in love with the great drawing. We have a whole lot of stuff planned for next week, don't worry.[break="news & your weekly wisdom"]in the news

Militia2 finished, coming August 17th. Interesting resolution comparison on Domain of Games. Counter-Strike: Condition Zero rumored to be delayed until Q1 2003. Valve's new anti-cheat technology previewed. Screwy CPL clan rankings updated. Official CS: Condition Zero trailer. A new team 3D line-up formed.

      coding fun

I can't even remember. Hmm, the drop-down list for marked comments was replaced by a simple quote button. A user who has an excess of deleted comments will be banned (so watch it). SOTD downloads are now members only quite simply because the skins take up loads of bandwidth. And there are now links at the bottom of the page. As for everything else, I have horrible memory.

      weekly wisdom

A good sniper can take out four men with an AWP, a great one can kill two with a Scout. Without a Desert Eagle.

        Something big later today!

        poll

The new poll will come out later in the day, so for now just gander at the results from last week's one to the right. By the way, that 4% who voted for the Scout are going straight to hell.

        this week in content

Well, above all you'll want to check "Going to before," by Mr Bond. This article takes a look at a CS player who is completely paralyzed from the shoulders down. It's an amazing story. The official CS-Nation Counter-Strike store has many new/updated items with a slew of dropped prices. If you still don't have it, be sure to grab the August CSN calendar.[break="the news this week and your weekly wisdom"]in the news

New cs-art. Interviews with 3d.kane: Gamers.nu (English) - Domain of Games. More Team 3D reforms. This week's CS-Radio posted for download. de_italy shots. CAL-I Thursday Wrap-Up. Woo, boring week I guess.

        coding fun

I really need to start making a changelog. I'll have to remember what I did from memory. Special tags ([ b ], etc.) now are automatically closed at the end of your comment if you don't do it yourself (thanks, SinaC). We can now remove an automatic ban (too many comments deleted) if we feel that the user didn't deserve it. The whole lost password system has been improved so e-mail wrapping interferes less, but the encryption method needs to be re-tooled because of a bug report. Oh, and you can end links with a period or exclamation point now (street).

On the table for next week: better PayPal integration, a method of posting general (non-articles.php) updates to the "recent features" section on the main page, and some other fun stuff.

This week's poll: What models in CS do you replace with custom ones? Click on the link or look on the right right sidebar to vote (please note that "world/ground" really means "world/player", as in w&p and p_m4a1.mdl, it's just less confusing this way, even if it's technically incorrect)!

The poll from last week (right) was no big shocker. I voted for medium myself, but large is a close second for me.

          this week in content

Last Saturday CS-Nation turned three years old and we started our not who you'd expect contest. On Sunday puffycloud did a favorite tactics mailbag. On Wednesday we posted some well-received MP5 and Para strategies.[break="news, coding, and weekly wisdom"]in the news

Gamers.nu interviews: Nocturne - GoL|ElemenT - 3D.moto (Geffon). New CS-Radio. New VAC module: world-wide ban list started, CD-KEY changers targetted (more details). HLirc released. Aztec updates previewed. CAL-i playoffs results. HLGuard v1.20 Released. ex_ myths debunked.

          coding fun

Not much exiting coding this week. A lot of polish went into some lesser-used and older areas of the site. For example, the modify news page for admins has been updated so update conflicts will be very rare and will never make an admin lose his work. Yay.

The one cool coding update this week is that you can now "open" files from the save dialog in Internet Explorer. It's really an issue with IE's header handling (I was using the wrong mime type, though), but at least it's fixed now. "Content-Disposition: inline," you are a friend. This bug has really annoyed me for a while. You can now preview SOTDs before saving to your hard drive (even though "open" does save to your hard drive, but you get the point).

i usually hate as maps but sometimes i just like to picture the vip being rizzuh for delaying the mailbags and such and like to blast his head off.

i even changed the vip's name to rizzuh through the admin command to pass the time.
