Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Yes, this should have gone up yesterday. It didn't because I wasn't feeling all that well so I hope you'll excuse me for this. However, yesterday Shadow of the Tomb Raider had a brand spanking new reveal trailer. It featured no actual in-game footage. It was in-engine, but not in-game. Bummer. We have that for you today along with word about how the PC version is being developed.

First though, let's take a look at the various ways you will be able to purchase Shadow of the Tomb Raider across the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.

The star of the critically acclaimed 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and the award-winning Rise of the Tomb Raider®, Camilla Luddington, makes her return as Lara Croft® with yet another stunning performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider editions

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will come in no fewer than four flavors. There is the Standard Edition which includes just the game. Then there are the Digital Deluxe, Croft, and Ultimate Editions on top of that. Take note here because pretty much everything beyond the Standard Edition gives you a two day jump start on the official release date, seriously needs to stop being a "thing" for games.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition includes the game, the season pass, soundtrack, additional outfit and weapon packs, a Lara Croft statue, a flashlight, and a bottle opener that looks like the climbing axe.

Also making the rounds yesterday was the first reveal trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. As we mentioned, the trailer doesn't contain any actual gameplay footage, which is about on par with most reveal trailers for games these days.

Last, but not least, we learned yesterday that the PC version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider is being handled by Nixxes. That was probably to be expected from a great number of you. What you probably didn't expect was that Nvidia is working with Square Enix, Eidos Montreal, Crystal Dynamics, and Nixxes on the PC version of the game. There really wasn't much of substance said about this collaboration, only that Nvidia "will lend its gaming and PC development expertise to help bring the PC platform's advanced gaming features to Shadow of the Tomb Raider."

They went on to say that this would "help maximize the performance benefits of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs." That all probably just means you should probably expect stuff like Nvidia GameWorks effects on everything.
Delivering the climactic conclusion to Lara Croft’s origin story in remarkable new detail, developers Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal are also partnering with the talented studio Nixxes Software for the PC version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Long-standing veterans of the Tomb Raider franchise, Nixxes Software will lead development of Lara Croft’s defining moment for PC gamers everywhere. The studio boasts outstanding experience working on past hit Square Enix titles such as Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and many others.

Anyway, pre-orders are available now for all platforms. You can find pre-orders available through the usual places like the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, or the Square Enix Store.

As a final bit, enjoy these new screenshots that you all probably saw yesterday already.
