Valve did something a bit different this year. They have compiled a list of Steam's top 100 grossing titles in 2016. They have broken the list into four categories to give you some idea of how well they sold. Of course, specifics about revenues are not disclosed.
- Platinum: The first through 12th best seller
- Gold: 13th - 24th best seller
- Silver: 25th - 40th top seller
- Bronze: 41st - 100th top seller

In Platinum you're looking at games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Fallout 4, and No Man's Sky. It even includes Dota 2 a free-to-play game. Yep, people spent enough on microtransactions for that game that it's in the top 10 biggest grossing titles on Steam. That's just wild.

Gold tier includes games like Stardew Valley, Doom, and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Silver includes games like Subnautica, Cities Skylines, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Bronze is the largest tier and includes games like Firewatch, The Sims 3, Undertale, Dishonored 2, and Hitman.

As of this writing, all of these games are still on sale.
