Last night the 15th annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAAs) were held and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came away as the huge victor of the night. Not only did Skyrim take the Game of the Year award from the event, but they also took a total of five awards overall.
Other winners include the PlayStation 3 exclusive, Uncharted 3. Battlefield 3 took home an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design", Portal 2 won, as did Mortal Kombat. The full list of winners and the categories they won can be found below.
Winners were selected by "qualified Academy and IGDA members" in a confidential voting process. Given the broad scope of the Academy and IGDA member base, winning an IAAs is one of top honors a game can receive.
