A new Nintendo DS game, Fossil Fighters unearths fossil-themed excitement at world-famous La Brea Tar Pits. Check it out:
[FL]http://images.totalgamingnetwork.com/images/thumb_14352.jpg[/FL]Fossil Fighters blends the timeless human fascination with dinosaurs with the fun of building a collection. The game lets players build a collection of more than 100 fantastical dinosaurs known as "vivosaurs." This new game incorporates elements of discovery, tactics and strategy as players try to get the best vivosaurs on their teams to battle it out on the field.

    WHAT:
Already a world-famous destination for prehistoric discovery, L.A.’s La Brea Tar Pits will be the site of an extraordinary entertainment find as Nintendo touts the upcoming release of its new Fossil Fighters™ game for the portable Nintendo DS™ system with a launch event for kids and their parents. Highlights will include a chance to play Fossil Fighters in advance of its Aug. 10 release, as well as a hands-on fossil dig in which kids compete to excavate and assemble the game’s fearsome creatures for prize giveaways (while supplies last). Attendees of all ages can enjoy a live Fossil Fighters tournament, and parents will be granted free admission to the nearby Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits when accompanied by a child. Guided museum tours and a tour of Project 23, which is undergoing excavation, will be available regularly throughout the event.

Fossil Fighters combines the fascinating fun of fossil study with the engaging hand-held game play of Nintendo DS. Players must use the stylus and touch screen to find and carefully clean fossils in order to revive and power-up battle-ready Vivosaurs, expanding their collection and attempting to become the best Fossil Fighter around. The game also allows players to battle or trade their fossils with friends via a local wireless connection.
