I am surprised that no one mentions how much a of ripoff bf heroes is to Team fortress 2.

Because it isn't a ripoff and never was. They don't share many similarities at all.

I second this, this used to be a great place to visit and a once great community, but now it's a handful of eBullies & eBully Moderators who attack anyone who isn't flaming and trolling DICE. A few of us with an ounce of sense still seem to post here from time to time trying to balance it out. I guess we're hoping it could return to it's glory days, but I fear it's in vain. TotalBF2 has died and we are all to blame, some of us just need to except this and move on. Though we should still visit to laugh at the monkeys still here throwing sh**t at themselves.

To me the problem is simple: The audience (us) wants a particular type of gaming experience. They are not getting that experience and the news we receive gives us little hope.

The stats/ranking FUBAR which occurred during 2008 drove away a lot of players. They want something fresh and they're not getting it on the platform they've invested serious money to have. If you don't satisfy your audience, they go elsewhere. Or, the competition has and in-road to your clientbase.

DICE has been running feasibility studies for years now with these other titles: destructibility from BFBC, improving character movement via their work on Mirror's Edge, online connectivity with ads and the ability to customise one's character a la BF:H.

Sure BF3 doesn't exist. But it will.

I'd be glad to just get a COMPLETE BF2 install with all the quality mods integrated and all the expansion content made available for free. I've made my own "AllModBF2" for SP and it is so much better than vanilla that I just can't play stock BF2 any more.

I'm thinking about giving FFoW and ETQW another go. TF2 is also awesomesauce and great fun. Valve/Steam FTW!
