UGO Goes Hands-On With City Folk

UGO has published their newest preview for the upcoming Wii exclusive Animal Crossing: City Folk. Check it out:
There is only one game that makes doing endless chores fun, and it’s Animal Crossing. Some people love it, some hate it, and then there’re those people that hate to love it and they spend their time with the game in a perpetual state of mixed emotions. In just a few more weeks, Animal Crossing: City Folk will drop for the Wii, and players across the country will jump right back into the game’s signature mix of fishing, fossil collecting, and mortgage payments. While nothing about the core of the game has changed, a few new features make City Folk the go-to title for obsessive compulsives later this fall.

Hit the jump for the scoop from my recent hands-on with the near final build.

Last time we checked in on City Folk, it was in the midst of the craziness that is E3. A number of big announcements regarding the game came out of expo, the largest being Nintendo’s new voice-chat peripheral WiiSpeak. But we also learned that City Folk includes an option for players of the DS version of the game to upload their data into the Wii release. While a player’s character and catalog of items are transferred over, you won’t be receiving any of those bells you’ve stockpiled in the game. Yea, Tom Nook has still got that vice grip on your balls bank account.

The entire preview can be found here.
