The part i've been hving trouble with is turning the jet around so i can take off again. I prolly just over think it and panic.

All the planes have reverse thrust, you don't need to turn around...

The reverse on the jets is terribly slow. In fact, I think it is something that should be corrected.

I have no problem landing planes anywhere. On moutains, through trees, even inside the occasional building.

Unfortunatly, they tend to be in smoking little pieces.

so i reverse thrust down the runway hoping the enemy jet doesn't look for me at the runway.

That was a fun try, i couldnt take off, but the buddy in the heli tried landing on the jet and we all blew up

I land all the time. If the situation allows me, i obviously wont when the area is hot, or there is an enemy around. but yes, many bf2 pilots land (from what ive seen)

I land jets anywhere, except water and bumpy surfaces. But runways, or on normal ground/roads... easy.

landing is actually very simple
(hard if you only have a keyboard )
the only probelm is speed control
the engines do not slow down right away, so you have to lead your approach
here is he best way to practice
(NOT IN A GAME)
go on single player - clean sweep is good
learn to fly around 500, then 400
carefull -get too slow and you will stall and crash
make easy wide turns - and line up for runway - graduallly lowering to runway height
when you cross the end of the runway - pull throttle to idle
(careful if you pull it back too far - you will go into reverse - which is ok if you have room to back up)
aim nose of aricraft onto horizon - this will give you proper attitidue when you land
with a little practice - you can do this every time, and eventully learn how to time it so you can go from full speed to idle and glide all the way in to a smooth landing

now - for all the tards that say - just slow down and repair while flying over the runway - sometimes yes - depends on aircraft and map
it SOMETIMES works ok - usually too slow -and it takes muiltiple passes
If I ever need more than 50% repair - much faster to land and taxi to the 'sweet spot'

I've had jets not repair when they've landed on the runway as well.
Have also seen this happen to other team members so if i'm playing engineer and there are no commander assets to fix and no one invading the main base i'll wait in the middle of the runway to repair landed heavily damaged aircraft

doesn't happen very often but quite rewarding when it does :)
