Extremely High Pings

As soon as I downloaded 1.22 patch, the least ping I found for a server is 200! They ranged from 200 to about 1300*!!!!

I was playing BF2 only minutes before I installed the patch and it was running perfectly smooth on high settings. Now I cant even get into a server without watching a "slideshow" of BF2


Why is it doing this? Pardon me if this issue has already been addressed.

Yea i have the same problem, but i dont really lag. I usally havea ping of around 30. After 1.22 i had a ping of around 150.

Might mean that not everyone is using the same patch on that server. what were some other people's ping?

Well I actually found one that was down to 140 but others had it around 50-80 and some had it 100-120

About 80% of the servers I see show an avg ping of 200-1100 which is extremely unusual for me

Maybe If I wait till tomm everyone will be using the new patch.... hopefully it will be better,

So, its probably the different patches thats causing the issues. Wait a week or two so that you can finda server with all 1.22, and see how it is then. This patch hasn't even been out for 12 hours, wait a week or two, and then get concerned.

My pings are unusually high as well. After the patch the lowest was listed as 200 and when I joined a server it was in the high 80's. For the last two weeks I've been in the 40's everytime that I looked.

WTF im not the only one now. B4 patch i played on a server in my town, had a ping of like 10 on it. That same server now has a average ping of 80-300 !

I've had some unusually high pings as well.
Was testing the patch out earlier with a friend in his server, just the two of us, both just patched, and I never dropped under 190.
Kept ramping up every few minutes 'til it hit 8-900, then would fall back down again.

Next server we tried, all was fine.

Is it the patch? No idea... very annoying though

You sir, are ignorant. Keep it to yourself. There are people having problems and trying to find out why, stay out of it.

I cannot even stay in a server since patching(not blameing, true statement). I live in Alaska and don't get the greatest ping in the world but my favorite low ping servers where I usually get 90-110(yes that is the best I can get so stfu) and now they go up to 300 then back down to 150 then back up.

I have done all the tests and they all look great comparing them to previous tests, so I'ts not my ISP. My buds in town have cable(I have 1m DSL) and they did not get these issues. I wonder if they screwed up by trying to fix the browser?

I am down to my last hairs with bf2. Do cats really have nine lives?

Didn't have this problem myself. Ping exactly the same as 1.21 and lower.

Also, you can't mix patches on a server. All the clients have to be running the same version as the server else it won't allow you to connect.

everytime a new patch comes out some people say "omg patch made my ping really big!!! stupid ea!!!"

well they might be stupid, but they arent causing you to have a high ping. the server browser always reports the wrong ping. so play on a server that you know is near you. i ping 20-30 on every server in the uk, 30-40 to europe and 100-150 to the usa.
if everyone on the same server has the same high ping then its the servers fault, if its just you then its something wrong with your connection.

MY PING STAYS LOW most the time around 30-70 then it tends to jump up to 800.

ALso i get a lot of freezing, and warping around. Its quite annoying.

This is funny cause whan people say the patch has helped performance for them my performance goes crap:laugh:

Now people are complaining about high pings after 1.22 and mine are the lowest they have ever been 15 to 40 The 40 ping was on a US server and im from UK:laugh:

yea no need to lie mate... you will never get a ping of 40 to a us server... 90-100 MINIMUM!!
