BF2 has barely been out for a year a they already have a new BF2 game in progress? That's like acknowedging that BF2 was a POS and is to be abandoned after countless lazy patches.

Buying the new game is signaling them that it's okay to put out half-arsed games.

Why wait until BF2 is dead to start making a new game? They would lose out on tons of profits and potential customers as people move on to different franchises. You realize they can work on more than one game at once, right?

good idea but its not going to happen, and its not going to be out for at least another 2 years which is like 4 dice time, so just relax and play some bf2.

And what does that say? it takes years to create a new game and there comeing out with on in a year using the old BF engine which is still riddled with bugs and slow code.

ea is kind of a bad company on helping the community and patching games.

I have more slow downs now then I did when I first bought the game but can still play it.. What did you expect? Its EA.


It will probably be very buggy and the patches will need a patch :)

I'm being serious here. DICE is one of the better companies for community involvement and patches. It just so happens that BF2 is a very buggy game.

As far developer support goes...

Do any of you people even play other first-person shooter type games?

I seriously doubt this because if you did, you would see just how bad developer support really is among other game titles in this genre.

Christ, at least DICE/EA communicates with the community, which is a lot more than I can say for many major development studios and publishers.

Not to mention, about 90% of the game play changes I've seen in the bf2 patches came directly from player to developer feedback.

Would you rather have it the other way around and have them totally blackout the community and change the game as they saw fit, regardless of the complaints from the community?

Believe me, I've played several games where that was the case and it's no fun at all.

Hell, it's a nice change for once just to have a publisher/license holder and development team actually working together to get things done.

I don't know how many times I've seen great games destroyed due to a lack of communication between the license holder and the development team.
