So let me get it straight...

"Futuristic" battlefield in whcih people where white jumpsuits (i thought this was supposedly higher tech...

But wait you have flying saucer thingys! (Like helicopters? err... this is sounding worse and worse by the moment)

Dont forget the mechs! (1980's sci-fi concept needs to meet 21 century reality. Tanks > mechs, and i dont care how it walks on two legs becuase if everyones STILL using bullets - i only need ONE uranium tipped shell to take your dumbass out).

Im sorry, but that game is just... well... stupid. Might want to rename Battlefield Stormship Troopers!

Can you say zero percent chance of my even coming remotely close to buying this "game?" I sincerely hope that this is either a cruel practical joke or, at the very most, a bf2 mod. Whatever the case may be, I, for one, don't find quasi-futuristic, science fiction games appealing in any way. It's sad that the dollar, and not the customer, comes first with companies like this. But really, should I expect anything less from the likes of EA?

Off-topic, but it also sickens me to see EA buy up the license to The Godfather. Is anything sacred anymore? What is next? A Gone with the Wind game? I wonder who's gonna get the licensing for Citizen Kane.

this is stupid but it will seperate the kiddies from the soldiers and dis respect the old bf community,I mean the could try to add more content to there game instead of replace it with space crap .I would of recomended a naval army in bf2 but no that was in the old bf42 or the ability to go underwater and more vehicles would of been tops

i wouldnt buy this its just slack marketing using the bf2 engine and the bf community knows this

**rolls eyes** Christ people there's nothing realistic about the game as is. It's a game. I've always wanted to take on mechs as infantry or tanks and have a good chance of taking them out. Which seams plausable in BC2142. But never was in Battletech/Mechwarrior where mechs ruled the battlefield. I'm definately looking forward to it.

The fact that it runs on the BF2 engine is what worries me. I can't say that I'm excited about getting killed by a mech outside because my feet were sticking through a wall.

hmm my guess is some kind of glider so when you fall out of a jet or hovercraft/helo, you can glide towards a spawn point easier. Or since I saw some tall buildings, maybe some buildings have stairways/ladders to get to the top and glide off of?

I quite like the idea of a post-modern battlefield. And kudos to smoker for pointing out the facts taht many arent realising.

Quite frankly: I might buy bf2142 because i like the genre, but ill download FH2 and POE2 because i like the ideas.

However this inherintly gives me a problem, i.e. NZ and OZ dont play mods a lot, so playing mods to start with is sorta like giving up before you begin.

I'd rather buy an online shooter/rpg like bf2142 which has people on it, than play a mod where 6 other people in my country have downloaded too. That is my common experience with all online games.. and so, I don't typically "do" mods. Except for desert combat, that i played at LANs with mebe 20-30 people and that was the bomb.

Looks pretty sweet.

Although some people are whining that they should fix BF2, putting out patches doesn't generate profit. Some are upset about it being future related? You know what? I would rather see a new BF game that is future related, then a re-release of BF2 with a few upgrades and new graphics. It keeps things fresh. It's not like you HAVE to buy it, there are plenty of other real-to-life war games out there. Go play them and shut your mouth.
