Use the software of the joystick to record a macro/mousemovement and then move the mouse like you just would do ingame, assagn that macro to the HAT

Unfortunately, this works only if your joystick is recent enough.

I think I'm not the only one around here having an old & sturdy MS SideWinder Pro that does not come with WinXP software for it. In this case, the Joy2Key is really the right solution for this. I already use it for alternate button config and I even tried once to use the POV Hat for the commo rose but in the end I stick to regular mouse use for the commo rose.

Only thing I did is the following using regular BF2 settings apart from Button 8(keep in mind that I'm a weird guy playing with joystick in left hand for all movements and mouse in right hand for aiming/firing) :

        (P)lane/(V)ehicle/(I)nfantry

POV Up : (P) afterburner / (V) - / (I) Sprint (you push UP/Forward which is consistent with the need to go faster)
        POV Down : (P) flares / (V) smoke / (I) select rifle
POV Left : (all) regular commo rose
        POV Right : (P) Squad/command commo rose
        Button 1 (trigger) (P) & (V) primary fire / (I) Jump
        Button 2 (near hat) : (P) switch weapon / (V) nada / (I) Reload
        Button 3 (near hat) : (P) & (V) nada / (I) Crouch
        Button 4 (near hat) : (P) & (V) nada / (I) Prone
        Primary Joy2Key conf : Button 5 (joy base) : (P) & (V) F9 / (I) nada
        Second Joy2Key conf : Button 5 (joy base) : (P) & (V) F11 / (I) nada
Primary Joy2Key conf : Button 6 (joy base) : (all) Squad VOIP
Second Joy2Key conf : Button 6 (joy base) : (all Commander VOIP
Button 7 (joy base) : (all) Numpad - (= TeamSpeak push to talk)
Button 8 (joy base) : Switch to Second Joy2Key config
        Primary Joy2Key conf : Button 9 (joy base) : (all) Enter/Exit vehicule
Second Joy2Key conf : Button 9 (joy base) : (all) deploy parachute

This way, when I fly, I use my joystick right handed - as I'm righthanded - and I can achieve a good precision and all I need is configured on the joystick (I don't use commo rose while I fly attack helo or planes but I can use it if gunner or transport helo pilot by clicking on the commo rose with unused left hand) and when I'm on the ground all I need is configured on the joystick and my 4+scroll button MS Mouse...

One really handy thing is to have bound the select rifle function to the pov down. Since I move using the joystick I always have my hand on it and I can easily draw my rifle without using the keyboard or the damned scroll button on the mouse. I also double up as a firemode selector.

          No problem..glad you like it!

I have alternative method that I'm currently trying out that involves holding down one of the joystick keys to use the POV hat as a mouse. That way, you can slew your view in increments without it either having to be all or nothing.
