Ok i absolutly hate the perament name deal. Its retarded, so how bout we do this. Steam got its steamids for identication and such. Well how bout we rely on PID for kicking/banning. Everyone wins

ya, thats what i think too. Two minor probs with that tho. One is that u can't look um a freinds stats if they keep changing it (hav to get their PID), and then people with no time on their hands decide to change their name and make it the same as yours to **** you off...gets annoying, but i think that name changing is a good idea in general.

I am glad that the names can't be changed. That way the pre-pube asshats can't cause trouble, leave the server, change name & come back in. Whats the big deal about changing names? Can you not pick a name & stick with it? Shhheeeeesh!

Isn't your account tied to your email address though? Obviously, it costs $50 to start an account(buy BF2). So couldn't EA just block your email address(which is tied to your CD key) and that's that?

But you cant look up ppl email addresses in game... Of course you need to have minor adjustments for this ( and major adjusments for the game ) but it would work out. If anyone plays CS you knwo (or should) the command "status" to get peoples Id's. It could be something simular.
And with peoples names being "tooken/stolen", who cares :P. If it bothers you THAT much then just leave server/ get a new name. For instance first 2 years of CS my name was b|1nd sn1p3r. (good days) Then I went into sniper, then I got the name rnu ( i randomly hit keys on keyboaard and said good :P) Yeah, I ahve yet to see a name "rnu" at all. (with all those scrims/matchs/pubs/moives/ ect). And about the people who leave and change name, get pid and type teh command for ban. ( I havnt touched rcon or w/e bf2 has for admin)
It all will work out i think. But hey, doubt it will truly go through
