I have seen so many people complain about things in here and I noticed one underlying thread no one has touched on that I could see.
Everyone complains about this person doing this and that, but no one ever posts threads about tips on being a good team player. They post tips on how to do something specific, but what about winning the round as a team?
It just occurs to me that if there is one thing that bothers me in the game it's the lack of team mentality between players. It seems like everyone is out for themselves and this is the number one reason why even if you own at flying or driving or whatever, it doesn't matter because if you lose the round, then you did not do enough to help your team win it. If you do not attempt to take a flag during a round, you have not helped your team. The only way to win is to control the flags and if you’re sitting on your butt on top of a hill or hiding in the bushes, you’re not helping. Driving by your teammates at full speed off to face the enemy alone serves no purpose.
I understand you may be in a squad. But, if you never spawn on your squad leader or listen to him when he asks for help, then what’s the point? Some of the best games I have even played had a sense of cohesiveness in the team and we did very well. I may suck at certain kits, but I try to pick the one that helps the most. At for tanks, Medic for heavy fights etc. etc.
If you’re commanding and your UAV is not going all the time, you're not helping your team. Drop supplies and keep your arty and UAV healthy. Ask for repairs if you can't drop a supply box. The goal is to show your team where the enemy is. Help them secure flags by dropping a UAV and covering the area when they try to take a flag or defend one. Do something.... anything.... to earn the double points you’re going to get if your side wins. If you command because you can’t get points on your own in battle, then you should get the boot. I hope they release a patch that drops idle commanders in the next patch.
I just think if people put as much focus into playing as a team as they do at getting ranks and medals, we could take the game to the next level and really enjoy it. The badges, medals, ribbons and ranks will come eventually even if you’re not focused on them. Even if you lose the round, I guarantee you will have more fun getting into the fight as a group than standing on the sidelines.
In the end, win lose or draw, the game is worth playing if we work together.
