  • Crash To Desktop on Map Load.

    Ok still got problems

Ive tried reinstalling so many times, due to incredible amounts of "Patching Failed" errors.

Ive tried reformatting my whole hdd, reinstalling my OS.

Ive tried updating my vid card drivers, and rolling back a few.

Eventually, I managed to get everything to install without any problems. Tried to load the game and its loading- it gets to around 55% ish and then crashes to desktop.

Anyone know of whats wrong and a possible fix?

Say if you need my specs.

Ok, an average middle end PC. Used to run battlefield 2 vanilla perfectly on medium settings, 1024x768@75 and no AA or AF.

      AMD Athlon 64 3000+
      1024mb RAM. (2x 256mb sticks and 1x 512mb stick, upgrading after christmas)
Average onboard sound card. Ran BF2 fine on medium audio settings.
Sapphire Radeon 9600 128mb vid card.

      Anything else?

In your computer tab properties, go to advanced and see what you have your memory set to!

Is that under/in the "Performance" section?

hi i had the same problem and managed to fix it :P,
                    i had 3gig off ram installed 2x1gig ddr2 an 2x512 ddr2,
i could run the game sweet as a nut with 2x1gig or 2x512gig but if i ran both sizes together it would crash to desktop every time with out fail.
try yours with just 1 type of ram not 2 different sizes.
its worth ago it worked for me

                            The problem is dual-channel mode

If you enable dual channel mode on your ram then BF2 does this,

Just disable Dual Channel Mode in the BIOS, worked for me

                            ben,
