How long on average does it take you to load a map?

and

How long does it take you to log on?

I ask this because whe logging on it can take about 2 minutes or so just to log on. Is this normal?

And when loading a map it does take a while but it does have a lot of data to load I guess. But once the map has loaded it can take up to a minute to verify data with client part.

Load map in about 30 seconds and verify data for about a minute.

Mine also ALWAYS takes a long time. I know its not my system or connection. I have a brand new rig and high speed connection...

15-20 sec. load. 5 sec. tops to verify.

Up your ram to 2gig, 1 gig minimum. You WILL notice a difference.

yer about 25 sec all togeather. Your problem is your ram 1 gig minium I would say lower than that it takes longer to load.

I used to verify in a matter of 5 secs or less - now it is about 30 secs to a minute. Seems like ages from what it was before the patch.

I used to be one of the first ones in on the map. Now I get in about 5th or so.

One friend had the opposite happen - pre patch slow, post patch fast.

Not sure why some people takes forever to verify and load - I know ram has some to do with it - but when both people have 2G of ram, and same spec processors - why is one faster than the other?

AthlonXP3000+, 1 gig ram, 6600gt
Takes me about 2 min for loading, 2 min to verify on first load
second load will be faster. 1 min and 1 min

(post specs please so we have an idea of why you load so fast or so slow)

40 seconds to load map.

20 seconds to verify.


It's been shown that the load time depends on RAM and the verify time often depends on hard disk speed. It's almost always possible to reduce the verify time by adjusting XP HD settings.

I do the loading part super quick, usually less than 30 seconds. The verifying however takes about 1-2 minutes.

I added a gig of ram, up to 1.5, now loads a lot quicker, some servers seem to take longer than others though. I never actually timed it though
