Nonsense. I shot down several copters last night. None went down in one shot. All took two shots with tanks. We tried the above and had no luck.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, just that it isn't probable most of the time. It makes no sense that it takes two tank shots to take down a copter.

And if you don't like the complaining, then why don't you stop? Or does complaining about the complainers not count for some magic reason?

IMO any heli pilot that gets themself shot by the tank's main gun deserves to die instantly, its not very hard to dodge the tank's shell you know, all you need to do is, not hover or land around the flag and keep moving.

        well regardless its about balance.

its much easier to shoot down air craft with a tank shell so the strength of the hit was lowered to give them a fighting a chance.

        again its all about balance

Not to mention the time I sent a TOW into the cockpit of a strafing cobra. The guy gets me with his random spray but doesn't go up in flames himself. Just shrugged it off like someone threw fir cones at him.

Heli armour is too strong it should be 1 tank round + plus a few hits of the 50 cal. But most of all they need to nerf the helipads- you hit a heli with your tank and then the gay pilot runs off to his pad and bingo its at full strength - how gay is that??Its unbalanced and gives Heli pilot the unfair advantage.

Re: tank rounds too weak against helis

                  Balance this.....balance that....

I find it hard to understand "balance" in a game where the helo can blow the tank away in a matter of 1 second, whereas the tank has to fire 2 or more rounds into the helo to finish it off. That same type of 'balance' causes more frustration for players than many other 'bugs' that bf2 has. In the sake of 'balance', the helo SHOULD go down in one shot from a tank. It certainly doesn't go down with 4 stinger rockets and a slew of AA bullets from an AA vehicle. Same goes for the vaunted jets that seem to be beyond reach of damage when pilots are flying them. "Balance" is achieved by having the ability to fly away from danger, fly around the danger, and position yourself in the air to destroy the danger with the arsenal the jet/helo contains.....not be able to take a 155mm shell from a tank (and therefore making the tank a perfect target after the shell has hit the helo...notifying the pilot and gunner of the threat and still be able to take care of the threat without worrying about a second shot taking them out.)

Also, "balance"....as is used in here like "noob" is used all over the servers.....is also attained by having the quick ability to race back to the helipad/tarmac and repair your aircraft. Does the tank/AA vehicle have that same 'balance' to keep it in the game? In DC, yes. Certainly not in BF2. And don't go saying "you can always call up your commander to get a supply crate" thing. You are at the mercy of the inept commander/squad leader in calling that stuff in. Usually, the commander is too busy killing a lone sniper with artillery to help you out. And the squad leader is sometimes halfway across the map (and probably wouldn't call the supply drop anyways....I haven't had one yet do it for me).

"Balance" is in a difference of opinion. The ability to fly IS the balancing point of the helos/jets. Actually having weapons on the ground to counteract the devastation the jets cause (with their bombing runs, running back to the tarmac, then back to their bombing runs in less than 10 seconds) and the helos cause (doing the same thing, also, but slower) would be the counterbalance. DC had it just about perfect in strength of flying vehicles...and that made the game much better at playing (and more enjoyable for non-flying players). This "balance" is also the problem with the blackhawk, but that complaint has been going since the game came out, so I don't need to say jack about that.

It wouldn't hurt to put a little more "realism" into the game for the sake of enjoyment....and a little less "arcade"....so there's an even chance for all to fight, and win.

I think its crap that a BH can take a tank round in the belly and not go down nothing but another tank should surive a tank shelling..
