My Map works on our clan server but i cant run it??

finished my map uploaded it onto our clan server.

Now everyone else can play it but mine crashes at 14% lol arghhhhhh

- tried video settings @ medium - low - high

still crashes

Does anyone have any solutions to this annoying problem.

After all that work i would like to play it

It is a strange thing that we haven't figured out yet. One of our members made a map and everyone can play it but him.

Are you using the packaged version for yourself. Place the same files that you upped to the server in your map folder - info client/server

Only one solution (and that member is me that Alpha is talking about) you have to reinstall the game, the patch. You are the one that made the map right?It happens because the editor modified original game content from bf2 mod folder. It's a bug and this is the only solution. It happens sometimes, it doesn't happen to everyone, probably some process in editor causes this.

thanks it does work for me now stuipid 'tard me was tryin to play the game with the workin files lol didnt realise only did after i posted, my bad.

It only CTD when i go to join and other ppl get the same problem.

even when i set it on low - medium - high, only after i crash to desktop then start the game again and load my map and then hit the join button it sometimes works?

Like playin russian roulette with the join button lol

then i have no idea...probably a memory allocation problem since what you are saying is something that is not stable. If it was CTDing every time you join and it would happen no matter what you do, i would say definetly a problem with the map, and it is definetly something to do with server side files (i am assuming it works on a LAN game) and then i would go to server.zip and look for the files that would create such CTD.

but since you are saying it happens sometimes and it doesn't, that is totally confusing. The game has some known memory leak issues (the editor has the same problem). what that means is this..most people, including me, sometimes can't open the game. we double click, nothing, double click again, nothing, and this keeps happening 10-15 times until we actually get in the game. This happens because of the BF2 engine not correctly inputting kernel data to Window's kernel. Every time you double click a game, it creates a BF2.exe process (u can see it from Ctrl+alt+del->processes and sort them in alphabetical order) and when you click the game icon the next time, it creates another one, and another one, and another one.

It's a very complicated issue and DIce says they are working on it, but for now, i would suggest you re-pack your map, if it happens again, pack it manually don't use editor's MOD pack feature.

Maybe its not a memory issue just a problem with the map.

hey thanks heaps, i think it was an object on the map that was causing it, i ended up deleting the crashed chopper(had no flames) repacked the map and works every time. I am now setting terrain to low or medium in video options and it seems to be working fine now even with all other options on high :)
