I think I'll try this when I hit corporal.. Wait for the promotion, get no points the rest of the round (to minimize the negative points I need), logout, make sure BFHQ shows the promotion, then go on a crazy spree. I still need about 1800 points and I've been playing on unranked servers recently so it may be a while. Anyone else closer to a promotion and care to try?

I seem to recall one of the interviews w/ the EA folks saying it is possible to be demoted...

I think you can't get demoted, I hace checked if your negative score counts, but it doesn't.

When you end a round with like -30score, your global score isn't going down.

They probably had the intention to put this in the game, but didn't , but they left the sound file in the game for the use of mods.

I started a new account, and immediately TKd about 3 guys to see what would happen.

It doesnt subtract any points from your global - which is pretty stupid.

Your global should reflect EXACTLY what you do in game IMO.

You can't get demoted as in lose rank. If you've ever witnessed a mutiny, it would say something along the lines of "20 votes for mutiny, 20 votes needed. vote successful, so and so is demoted". That's what this sound is for.
