Mouse Stops working on spawn select sreen

Hi all

After a fresh install of windows xp I decided to give bf2 a go again, after all there has been two patch's since I last played.

Oh how wrong I was.

I can get into the game and actually get on a server with no problems, however when it get to the screen where you select your class and spawn point, my mouse and keyboard stop working. This is the most annoying game ive ever came across. Anyone got a fix for this or idea's/suggestions?

Ive ran all the spyware programs I can think of and also done a virus check, nothing has shown up. I've also updated punkbuster.

Any help would be really appreciated

Go into Options -> Controls and apply the default settings, it usually fixes this.
