A small portion of the non succesful revives might be the same hit detection failure that causes knife hits not to register.

Gotta try the medipack thingy though. Sounds solid.

actually i never thought about hit detection with the defib but most of the time its pretty reliable, butt hen it does have a far greater range than the knife.

Range doesn't exist when using the deifb on enemies. You have to be in their face in order to get a kill.

I'm not so sure about this, I've defibbed enemies from way too far away... we're both going "I can't believe that worked" because he appeared to be 3-4meters distant and I got him...

There's too many variables to say for sure. Ping, FPS, etc. I was only speaking from experience so it's hard to say for sure. Next time we're on our practice server I'll run a test.

I have a special method of reviving while on the move:

Sprint toward the body, dive down as you're getting close, res. Jump up and keep running.

I usually do the dive down and jump up in about a second a half, I rarely die from it.

I see a lot of diving down in-game but I'd rather just srpint by... crouch...defib... sprint away. This is the fastest way for me especially if there are more than one soldiers to revive.

Not to mention the defib has a little range. If you can revive from behind cover than that should be your first option.
And never switch to the defrib until the last second.

You can almost feel the snipers eyes light up as he see's medic with defrib leading the way to the corpse.

At sniper distances you can't really see the defib, someone running to a fresh corpse is the giveaway. Easy targets are no fun, headshot on a moving target is more satisfying. But I'll still try to kill them both Medic first though, revenge for all the times ppl have revived me over and over to be killed again in a second.

I vaguely remember reading that if someone is selecting kit items or switching classes that cannot be revived until the dead player exits those menus. Anyone else ever heard of that?

I'd try and confirm that with someone but i don't personally know anyone else who plays 2142...

I know that to be false. Plenty of times my SL has asked if someone goes down to come in engi or support and while preparing those kits I get revived.

yeah, i've been revived plenty of times when changing kits or equipment... then there's the frantic panic of hitting the right key to close the menu before... oh carp, I'm dead again. :dead:

Hitting <Caps Lock> twice always works for me. (Unless I'm at the squad screen, then only once.)

                            Run for dear life!

Yea, playing after i posted i purposely tried to test it and i was revived each time i was in the selection menu. No idea where i came up with the memory -- no surprise because i don't really trust my brain anywhen.. =P
