I have had HL2 for a while now and have been trying to get cs source to work. It is installed and runs and everything. BUT every single time I try to connect to a server it goes through the usual loading screen and when it says sending......to client (whatever it says when its almost done loading) my whole PC shuts down!

You dont need Half-Life 2 anyway's for Counter-Strike: Source (Or Day of Defeat: Source) It's probably just that your computer is fucked. Or you might not of installed it right. You might of also screwed up the CS folder not 100% sure. Just try reinstalling, if that does not work sorry but i dont know.

Shutting down when an error occurs is usually due to a major problem. You need to check through your system error logs, double check your computer is above the system specs, check for viruses, especially check that no part of your PC is overheating.
