    yea i have gtx 460 and DX9 doesn't run well. it ran better back when i had 8800GT. dunno what the deal is.

          Turning off shadows probably wouldn't have helped you anyway since BC2 runs only about a 10-15fps difference between low end video cards and high end. You need a fast quad core to get better fps. Basically if you get the same fps at every resolution with the same settings from the lowest to the max resolution (probably a 5-7fps drop at max res), your CPU is holding you back more than your GPU.
