  • Call of Pripyat Mods

    Hey guys,

Being a huge STALKER fan, I've recently come across a few mods that I've used to greatly improve the atmosphere of Call of Pripyat. If you're looking to enter a much deadlier, less forgiving zone than before, you might want to check out the following mods:

    STALKER: Redux
This mod was actually just released a couple days ago, and changes a variety of things. The HUD has been decreased to only a health bar, stamina bar, and miscellaneous displays such as ammo type, hunger, radiation, etc. Ballistics have also been tweaked to make the gameplay much more realistic, there have been several changes to the economy, blowouts are reworked, the list goes on. The mod also incorporates new STALKER skins, new artifacts, atmosfear (which adds several new weather cycles), and greener vegetation.

A full list of features can be found here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-pr...redux/features

    STALKER: Reloaded
Weighing in at over 700mb, Reloaded offers new, high resolution textures that make the game look absolutely gorgeous. If you're interested in trying it out to improve the visual aspect of your STALKER experience, you can find the mod here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-pripyat-reloaded

Sample videos of the two mods in action:

    Weather effects:

I'll get more up soon hopefully.

    ------------------

For installation, install Reloaded before you install Redux just to be safe. Redux adds new sounds on top of Reloaded's sounds, so that's why I figured it would be best to install it in that order to ensure everything works properly.
Also, If you want to change the max carrying weight in Redux (which, IMO, is set way too low - 30 before sprint is severely affected and 40 max) just PM me and I'll tell you what to do.

          Re: Call of Pripyat Mods

Voila, I can't remember which version I played, but there was a point where he removed stashes because they had too much stuff in them. I of course skipped that update, but again, not sure when that was implemented.

In his upcoming release, he'll be adding a variety of things including something I posted for - that being randomly aggressive bandits. Not sure how he plans to indicate which is which (if at all) but this should add a lot more depth to character interaction, as it was pretty lacking in CoP.

Also, do NOT do what I did. I thought the initial weight setting was far too low, and I went into the game files and changed it myself. Little did I know, however, that later suits allow you to carry more weight, so had I kept the original values I would have felt as though I really earned those suits rather than just looted like a madman. Redfield knows what I'm talking about, even though I was far worse in SoCH.

:EDIT - Me looting in SoCH: http://www.xfire.com/video/1eefc0/
