no, no people that say, have a £1000 rig but use the config to make the game look like pacman for the advantages of see through map objects etc etc

Re: How accurate are the hitboxes in CSS ?
its all about the twats that have 5 gig configs
get rid of their smacktard config and they would suck
wish Valve would get rid of configging tbh or at least really tighten the rules as to what you can changeLeave a comment:

Re: How accurate are the hitboxes in CSS ?
100 tick and 33 tick feel 100% different... its like playing two different games.
I really can't stand the registry problems in source... nothing more infuriating then putting a round in your buddy's head and SEEING it go through, but not do any damage, and then them laughing at how bad you are. -.-
It also sucks because some servers have better reg than others so when you play on one server... you adjust to its registry (aim infront/behind) and then when you actually get into a good server with really good registry... you have to adjust again...
Now I'm starting to miss 1.6. =(Leave a comment:

It's not the only reason for lag obviously.
And, even good CPU's an be strangled by background tasks like Firewalls etc...Leave a comment:

Re: How accurate are the hitboxes in CSS ?
people should have good cpus on source already given how bladdy cpu dependent the engine is
better servers help, I have played on some lovely 100 tick servers in my time and other ones that are so poorly setup that they feel like some 33 tick

Re: How accurate are the hitboxes in CSS ?
You'll find that in most games though.
And, contrary to popular belief, having a better CPU does help reduce bad hitboxes (especially in BF2)
The reason is that if you have a low performance processor trying to handle multiple applications (E.g. CSS, background apps, Steam, VAC) it's having to switch between the processes, dedicating a fraction of a second to each. This is known as "time division multiplexing". It's the reason why a single core CPU can multitask.
The more data or processes you throw at the CPU, the longer it takes to process each one and occasionally it can reduce quality.
If your CPU is stressed then it may take longer to process the games netcode resulting in a time based lag. This is where everything graphically appears smooth, yet hitboxes may be well out.
This reason is not well known by gamers.Leave a comment:

different engines and netcode etc
the hitboxes aren't perfect but they are far better than they used to be,
there are still those infuriating bad reg moments thoughLeave a comment:

How accurate are the hitboxes in CSS ?
Hi, I was wondering what you guys think about the hitboxes in css. I think that valve has improved them past few years quite good but they are not perfect yet. You can still kill some1 even if you shoot 5 feet away, espesially whit the awp. Is it so hard to take the hitboxes from cs 1.6 and pasta them into css
