Half Life (all games) are boring... Portal is way better, if only for the custom maps and so. The vanilla campaign gets old quick, even though it's a lot of fun to do speedruns.

Started playing episode 1 an 2 of half life..never got past like first level...but ive always wanted to do em but never have the time...

I don't think Half Life changed the market, the game itself isn't something special if you ask me. But the mod community made something big out of it.
