I was able to log in earlier today but as of about 2 hrs ago i've been getting that same message too.

And I really felt like playing tonight

I'm having this problem too - started yesterday when I alt-tabbed out of a game. There seems to be a few people posting about this on the forums since yesterday, but I haven't found any solutions.
I tried a manual punkbuster update. Didn't help.

when i enter the password in the main entrance of my BF2 game

its trying to connect and then it gives me a window of

"the server refused the connection"

wht what is the problem?..
