Re: this sounds good
i don't think so. the FAV is a very crucial vehicle to have on maps like cerebere and camp-g and taking those out would totally screw the PAC side and would severely handicap their uphill fight. the only time i really see PAC win on those maps is by taking back bases swiftly with the FAVs. perhaps they should just restrict armors, but not all vehicles.

A little bit more, yes, so obviously they'll have an advantage, but we're at a point where it's time to **** or get off the pot. Widescreen monitors are all over the place and it was frankly dumb not to have it when the game shipped.
Is widescreen resolution on capable hardware more troublesome for the game than somebody with a top-end video card vs. somebody with a bare-minimum spec card running at a crappy framerate to begin with? Where do you draw the line? There are always going to be haves and have-nots, and if you want to future-proof your game as best you can to get the most life out of it, you can't hamstring everybody to the lowest end hardware.
Well, I think part of what they said was infantry only on some, not all, maps, so that won't be so bad. Some maps could really be great as infantry only (Cerbere, Berlin, Bavaria & Leipzig). I'd still want some servers running those maps to have the regular vehicle-enabled versions as well, but IO isn't a bad deal altogether.i don't know if i like the no vehicle option. it will totally make engineers useless on many maps. besides, what is battlefied without vehicles? whether a walker pwns the battlefield or not, vehicles have always been an integral part of the battlefield experience that i don't ever want to see them restricted in any format.
But yeah... on IO maps, Engineer probably won't be represented much at all.Leave a comment:

Re: this sounds good
so do widescreen users get to see more of the battlefield due to wider view? could be an advantage.
i hope they get the custom kit saves right this time around. at least they listened to the complaints regarding pod movements out of transports.
i'll be happy as long as they do what they say and it works without new bugs, and also keep the game stable by getting rid of the server crashes.

That has to do with collision detection / lag / packet loss. =[Leave a comment:

Re: this sounds good
The widescreen option is good. Maybe it will fix the problem I am having with my soldier moving around like it is limping.
Ive tried all the widescreen setups and even the widescreen mod, but none of it worked.
This is great news :yay:

Sorry bout that. You weren't the only one. Eleven people were banned from there and seven websites were shut down permanently. I don't fool around. That's an example of what happens to anyone who knowingly or unknowingly moves against The Sir. Community. When you're ready to host your 1.7 stuff, just send it to me over MSN and I'll put it on our file servers. :salute:

I am the dumbest person on the earth. I run 64 bit Vista and I have no problems with ANYTHING. If I can do it, you can too!Leave a comment:

Re: this sounds good
This sounds good. Looking forward to the new maps.
I've played IO on lots of maps before and it adds a new style of gameplay to the game. And now it can't be spoiled by some nub who decides to tear things up in a walker.
I already got widescreen support but still - built in is cool.
Like a previous said - it is the end of April already and patches are usually released tuesday right!

Re: this sounds good
BF2142 works fine on Vista, if you run it as admin most problems disappear :)
Love the widescreen support and the new maps, sceptical to the no vehicles part but BF2142's infantry aspect is a whole lot more balanced than BF2 so I think it'll work out alright!
Love you DICE
