  • BF2 and Vista

So i just got a new laptop and it has vista on it. I was wondering if bf2 works with vista.

also every time that i go into a online server, within seconds punkbuster kicks me out for inadequate O/S. I can only guess that that has something to do with vista.

Thanks, and happy new year =]

Inadequate O/S privileges? Try running it as admin.

First, in order to help, we need some system specs. Vista, like all other windows O/S, is based off of the same source code: the same core engine.

I like to call Vista a 300 dollar XP Service Pack. So yes, Vista is backwards compatible with older XP-based applications. No O/S has ever been a complete rehaul, it just wouldn't be feasible for a company or consumer.

The only problem I see here is...Vista will take up 1GB of your RAM(or more) just by itself. 1GB of RAM for BF2 alone is hardly sufficient, 1.5GB better, 2GB recommended. I'd be suggesting a minimum 4GB in a Vista system. This is a simple overlook by Dell.

If you're the only person using the computer, you should hold the admin account.

Here's one for Vista, sorry, my bad. XD
