  • Quick questions~!!

    Hi there~!!!

Well um a.... im not that good at computers, so i just wanted to ask u guys some questions.

    1. Um...U c i use a "P5LD2 SE" asus motherboard. Im using a 1.8ghz dual core and i want to change it soon. Can i use a 2.4ghz dual core cpu on this motherboard?

    2. Where can i download directx 10? I'm installing vista on my other computer but i just don't know where to get dx10... Do i have to buy it?

  • #2
    you dont buy dx10,

first you need a dx10 card,

    and vista comes with dx10.

i dont think you can download it at all,

vista auto update does this anyway..

    your bord is 1066fsb,

you can put a quadcore in there.

    i recommend getting a e6600 2.4ghz 1066fsb

            I'm sorry... Us dollar?

those two items are from australia.

            ill convert them

            q6600-$279
            e6600 - $240

            australia has like 10% gst

so it would be even cheaper in usa.

you could just get a $50- $90 high end heat sink that cools your cpu .
and overclock it to 2.4ghz very easly,

                i got my q6600 2.4ghz overclockd to 3.5ghz with a $70 heat sink.

can run cooler then the current stock heat sinks.even when its overclockd at the same time

also dx10 is a part off vista. you dont see it install,.

it will be in the vista installation package , that you will not find.

                    but its there lol,.

what type off cpu do you have,? i can pick out a good heat sink, and tell you what a good over clock it can do

                        you will have a box.

ie intel core 2 duo box,

with a stick on the back or side of it,

                        white sticker

                        with like

                        socket 775 e6400 2.4ghz 1066fsb

3.2ghz is a high over clock for that cpu. requires some skill.

you should reash 2.6 -2.8ghz easy.

                            you needs some tool.

                            cpu-z
                            core temp
                            wprime

the best air cooler you can get is

PC Case Gear : Page Not Found - PC Case Gear, PCCG, pccasegear, computer cases, computer parts

that will send you to and past 3.0ghz.

i recomend somthing a bit cheaper . 3.0ghz will be a bit hard for a beginner.

this is what im using to get my q6600 @ 3.5ghz,

Supports Socket 775/754/939/940/AM2, Copper base with 4 heat pipes, Blue LED Fan
