If you fly jets joystick is a must. Doesn't have to be nothing spectacular, something basic will still do fine.

Joysticks for jets for me too. Always used a stick when flying combat sims etc. I use my trusty old MS Sidewinder. Just as in RL, it feels a lot more natural than using the keys/mouse.

It's also decent for flying the chopper, but unlike keys for that, it's a tad less responsive than the on/off action of a key as you have the travel in the axis.

It's harder to seat switch with a stick too, because you have to keep taking one hand off to reach over for the mouse when you need to TV missile.

you need a joystick period. (well not NEED - but it definitely gives you an advantage)

if someone says you don't, tell them to do two barrel rolls in a jet without picking up their mouse.

                I can (on 10x sensitivity in-game, 400dpi mouse setting)

There's a certain axis where you don't need to lift the mouse at all to barrel roll any number of times (or notice that you're doing it) and co-incidentally, it happens to be the same axis that lets you dodge most missiles.

Theres got to be a reason real planes use joysticks...

oh ya.. its because joysticks are better.

Using a joystick for BF2 is a good way to add on to the fun factor. But in the end, it's all preference.

I think you'd find flying with a joystick more fun than flying with a keyboard and mouse. Can't hurt to give it a try. Might be out a few bucks if you don't like the joystick. But atleast you'll have a nice paper weight. :)

                      Nice Signa. Lol.

Im using my broken down "Attack 3" joystick as something to keep my medals and passes and ID tags on. I also use it to hang my ties and whatnot :p

Unfortunately for your claim, my "opinions" are more valued than yours since I like to back mine up with proper argumentation, facts (even statistical) and experience. Ive also seen plenty of peoples flying, not to mention my own and Ive played through all peripheral devices bar gamepads. You on the other hand, have 100 hours AT BEST in a jet (considering your claim of multiple accounts being true) with a KDR that is below average compared to the general medium of a "good pilot".

As I said, your opinion in this matter is worth only the pixels and webspace youre wasting.

I know of 3 pilots by the name who are not using joysticks and that could whoop my ***. They would whoop my *** because they practice sh!tload more and are dedicated to the "art" of flying. There are quite a few of pilots who use joysticks that would roll them over, me and would kill you simply by using bombs only, in midair.

Yes, you can work your *** off to become great using a keyboard only. Same for the mouse. Joystick tops these peripheral deviced in every department and if we set a pilot with equal hours and experience into the equation, the pilot who doesnt use a stick, will lose.

You can clearly see these "selproclaimed mouse aerial cowboys" say they are the best, because the people who reigned the skies a year ago, mainly the joystick pilots, dont give two sh!ts about this game nor their reputation, anymore. Most of them, even if they are flying, are doing so on their "old fat".

The only ground you, waaah_wah stand, is the "fun factor". One does not necessarily have more fun from flying with a stick. In that department, we can agree on. One does also NOT become an uber pilot just by using a stick. We can agree on that aswell. But the udeniable fact, which you can not (even based on your excess experience) deny, is that a joystick offers control, response, extra keys and mobility other peripheral devices just lack. Again, Im exclusing gamepads from the equation.

Mouse and KB have an edge over a stick because they offer superior response time, but were talking about milliseconds here and it used to matter when missiles were reliable only at certain windows of opportunity.

Next time you give someone BS advice, try to back it up with some objective information.

Buying a stick wont make you a better pilot, practice will. And Chris cant you just crawl back to that basement of yours and redline some ppl for not being 18 of age or something? Go and argue with someone elce. I will argue with you when you'll start reading what ppl are writing

Ive said that twice in this very same thread.

Youre 17, living with your parents. Surely you think that insult is completely retarded?

AKA: "Oh hey! I dont have anything to respond with so Im just going to throw an insult and run away."

Go google for best BF2 pilots. Google for pilots who use KB/Mouse and proclaim to be the best while they get ridiculed in practice and words.

You dont know what youre talking about so it would be best for you to just shut up. Next time you give someone advice out of your ***, think about your inadequacy first.
