I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of Vista, but I don't have any sources, just making a guess.

X2 SLi Nvidia Evga Geforce 8800GTX
nForce 680i Evga Motherboard
1100W Power Supply
4GB Corsair XMS DDR2
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1
Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bit

(Yes, have all latest drivers/bios version)...
(Cleaned out bf2 cache and reinstalled it)...

Dude, im having the same exact problem... im starting to get mad, its doing it to one of my friends too

My specs are:
X2 5600+ @ 3.33ghz
PCIe X800XL

Edit: i am on vista 64bit but i have been playing the game for a month without a problem

I know my problem isn't my system...! it was working fine, this just started recently!!! arh!

What are your computer specs, which operating system ?

If you're using Vista, this might help.

Need to know why my game keeps on crashing. When it crashes it just minimizes. If you have any ideas please help.
