So yeah. I finally made it to First Sergeant! Yeah, to me thats a big accomplishment, although Master Sergeant will be harder, this was still a big one. Up until now, My game has been Points, Points, Points. Now I have come to understand that Points are not relevant. Sure they get you unlocks, and respect, but hey, there is more to this game then points, right?
I think so. I used to only play medic and maybe spec-ops, I have found it is viable to become a well rounded player. I started playing alot more Karkand IO, and that involves alot of tight mid-range and CQB squad play. I found i play best as Support, and I almost always play as MEC. I do this because I have fallen in Love with the RPK-74. It is a very very deadly gun in my hands, and i think that it is my favorite in the entire game. My new stratagy is to drop re-supply bags, and take up positions where i can support my team, by supplying them with covering fire and opening up a place for them to advance. I rarely jump in the front of a fire fight. I may split up and go a different route. Somewhere i can sneak up beside a wall (prone) and again, lay down some bullets.
My place is always to be prone, and to move around cover easier. When you do this i find you can live longer, and provide a more useful shot. A well sheltered position can keep you out of incoming fire and aid in your effort to win. I think from now on I will continue to play as Support, and will continue to use the RPK-74, that combination has worked soo soo well for me lately, and i find myself not paying attention to points all that much, and hey! As soon as i let myself forget about points, I was earning them alot quicker. Go Figure? But yeah, i think that when i play BF2 with strategy, it is alot more fun, and more rewarding.
