I backed up my BF2-related registry settings before formating my windows (C drive) partition. My Battlefield 2 files are located on my 2nd (D drive) partition under /GAMES/. However when I merged the .reg file I received a "Your CD-KEY is not valid." message when attempting to join a server. It was working fine right before the format. Am I missing another key or what? Here is what I have backed up:
Whereas "CDKEYSTRING" represents my unaltered, as well as 1.41-patched, cd key.
I would rather not have to go through the gruelling process of reinstalling and patching my client again.
I know a couple of you might say "remove the extra backslashes" or "it says 1.4, try upgrading to 1.41" so don't bother. Those are not issues here.
I have backed up BF2 and its registry settings quite a few times in the past, but never encountered this problem.
Any help would be great, thanks.
