Keeping FPS up permanently?

There has to be a way.. but I don't know how.


Right now, basically every time I boot up BF2 and join a server, first thing I do is ~renderer.drawfps 1 and that will bring up the FPS until I close out of BF2..

But I close and open it alot and it's annoying.

Is there a way I can make it so that in my settings or something I can have it set to be up there every time BF2 is open?

I'd like to know as well, sadly since it's a console function it probably has to be entered every time.

A marcro. I tried to create one on my G15, failed miserably. Gave up after awhile.

It is a pain typing it in every time.

You could fire up FRAPS before every game, that would stay on and not shutdown between rounds.

I find FRAPS and the in game frame counter to be almost identical in BF2.

Yeah, get Fraps, it's very simple to use.

You need to enter that in a specific folder of BF2, try Googling for it.

Seriously a question for you: are you flying with a joystick or keyboard/mouse? I'm still dreaming about taking down all J-10 on Wake Island map with keyboard/mouse.

If you want to thank me, help train me to be capable of dealing with average J-10 stat padders.

this method makes it a little shorter to type in:

[open console]
type: ren [hit tab]
type: d [hit tab]
type: f [hit tab]
type: 1 [hit enter]

basically the tab key fills in some of the wording. :p

That's what I do, but I think the general.con way should be decent.

I just type it in every time. I used to use fraps, but I found that it dropped my FPS as much as 5 frames while it was running. I try to have as little running as possible, since each patch has hit my performance some. I still can't live without my TS when I play with friends, though.

He uses a joystick. I used to use Keyboard/Mouse and I could take down J10's, but now I've started using my Joystick.

I have been using fraps as my ingame fps for 2 years now....whoever thinks the little yellow number hurts your fps....needs a better GPU

Try using ATI Tray Tools and enabling the OSD display.

Shows FPS, free video memory, GPU speed, etc...

But I guess that only works if you have an ATI card.

i use FRAPS, it gives you current fps and the ability to record a video and take screenshots.
